Whether you’re an ardent musician or someone who enjoys humming along to your favourite song, Aroha has you covered. From the soothing ragas of classical music to spirited band performances, Aroha aims to spread the harmonies of music and the joy that comes along with it to the community of IISER Pune, through its events conducted throughout the semester.
EVENTS
The stage is yours! As the name suggests, these events are open to all. Conducted once a month, open mics are meant to encourage budding musicians to showcase their talents to the community of IISER Pune.
Open Mics
These informal events celebrate musical spontaneity and creativity above all. From 9-12 every Sunday, the music room is kept open for musicians to simply bounce around ideas and jam in a dedicated space.
Jamming Sessions
The biggest stage Aroha has to offer. Student Concerts aim to showcase the best music Aroha has to offer, be it classical or western. Selected bands have 20-30 minutes to shine in the spotlight.

Student Concerts
iICM
Every year, Aroha chooses the finest musicians in the institute to create a contingent to compete at the yearly Inter-IISER Cultural Meet, held in rotation at one of the IISERs. In 2023, IICM was hosted by IISER Pune, so Aroha also had the privilege and responsibility to manage and host the music events: the Duet Singing competition, the Classical Band Competition (Mehfil) and the Battle of Bands.

The music room is a well-maintained, air-conditioned, partially
soundproofed facility where students can practice, learn new instruments,
and also jam with fellow musicians.
